A matter carries everything the firm knows about a case: the category, the court, the parties, its status and the record of what happened and when. Nothing about a case lives outside its file.

Pleadings, evidence and correspondence are filed against the matter they belong to, on storage only your firm can reach. The firm's own logo, stamp and letterhead sit alongside them for the papers it issues.

Staff are recorded with their employment details and given a role. What a role may do is a named list of permissions the firm can change, and every action taken is written to the audit trail with who, what and when.
